Update:
This week is like a recovery week. I haven't been to torque in a week. I haven't worked on any leg strength in a week. I plan on going to torque on Thursday if my health lets me. I have been feeling under the weather lately and haven't felt up to doing much. If I do go to torque on Thursday I will try and schedule a time that I can go over the weekend to try and make up for lost time. Wednesday November, 29th (Volleyball Practice) Tonight at Practice we found out what position we are playing. Positions are so exciting to find out! This season I will be be playing an outside hitter. We started off just playing around with the team then we ran three laps and started stretching. We got split up by the position we were playing so my side didn't have the setters because the middles were working with them. My side mainly worked on serve receive. We had to get 20 passes straight to target and until we did that we couldn't do anything else. After we got 20 passes we played some more, but just together. And when the setters ere all done the 16 team (my team) had to scrimmage the 15 team for the rest of practice. Thursday November, 30th (Torque) Thursday was a rough day since I hadn't been to torque in a while. The first round of things we had to do was 3 rounds of things. We had to do band walks down and back 3 times and lunges down and back 3 times. This made your legs feel like jello. The second round of things we had to do was a combination of two things. We had to run to the fence down and back and when done with that we had 10 tire flips. We had to do each of these 4 times, so all together 8 down and back and 40 tire flips. The next set of things we did was called "on the minute". We had to start on each minute, and we did this for 10 minutes. When the minute started we had to do 5 deadlift and then when done with those 10 step ups (5 on each leg). All together 50 dead lifts and 100 step ups. The last round of things we had to do was 100 flutter kicks and 30 sit ups. We had to do this for 3 rounds, so all together we had 300 flutter kicks and 90 sit ups. Sunday December, 3rd (Volleyball Practice) This practice was pretty easy and similar to the other we've been having. We ran 3 laps and stretched then started off with some setting drills. After the setting drills we worked on hitting in our positions and aiming for places in the court to put the ball. I worked really hard at this. Then we started to play a few games that we had done before to work on us moving our feet and getting to the ball. After all this we warmed up our arms by serving then the 16's and 15's got to scrimmage. And that was our practice. We also started to learn our rotation too. I am super excited for this season. |
