Tuesday November 7th
Today I went to torque to workout. The first activity I had to do when I first got there was 100 Jump ropes and 50 weighted toe touches. We had to do this 5 times. Weighted toe touches are when you lay on your back and lift your legs in the air and touch your toes while holding the plate at your chest. This really works your calves and core work and stretch. The next activity we had to do was 8 deadlifts and 12 pull ups. My deadlift max was 95 lbs. We did each of these 5 times also. The last set of things we had to was a weird kind of pull up and walking with a 20 lb kettlebell in each hand down and back. The pull ups we had to do were under a bar about 2 feet off of the ground. You lay under the back and have your hips slightly off the ground and pull up. THIS WAS SUPER HARD. We had to do 15 pull ups and down and back with the kettlebells 5 times also. Thursday November 9th Thursday started off as an easy day, but that changed very quick. The first thing we had to do was 50 jump ropes and 50 sit ups. We did this 5 rounds, so all together it was 200 jump ropes and 200 sit ups. The next thing we had to was 50 runner sit ups. This is where you are on your back and it is like crunches but when you make your right elbow touch your left knee. And after each 50 we had to do 50 toe touches. So again all together we had 200 of each. The next thing we had to do was 15 explosive lifts with 35 lbs, 25 lightsabers (each arm), 20 ball slams and bear crawls down and back. We had to do all of this 6 times. When you do lightsabers you have a stretchy band and one hand on your hip holding one side and the other side holding the band in the air and you pull that arm back to increase your strength. After this we stretched out to find out we were not done. We had to work on our running technique. We worked on how to place our arms when running. We practiced this by slights jogging with 5 lb weights and more just working on the technique not actually running yet. Technique is all the most when you want to do something. It might be painful at first but when your body adjusts it will make it so much easier. |
